For Guardian

Before you start

  • Your adult account needs current access to the team and a guardian link to the player you are answering for.
  • Your guardian link must allow availability replies. This workflow uses the team's availability feature, which is included in Free.
  • Sign in with your own adult account. Your child does not need an independent login.
  • Ask the team manager to link your account to your child's roster record if the child's view is missing.
  • Choose an upcoming event that is scheduled or postponed. Replies close when its start time passes; completed and cancelled events are read-only.

Start in Schedule.

Steps

  1. Choose your child's view

Open the account switcher at the top of the team navigation. Its accessible label is Switch team or view.

Under Switch view, choose your child's name with Guardian and the correct team underneath. The checkmark identifies the Current view.

On a phone, first open navigation using the menu button in the top bar, labelled Toggle Sidebar. The account switcher is inside that navigation drawer.

  2. Open the event

Choose Schedule in the team navigation, then open the match or practice you want to answer for.

Check the event's date, time and opponent or event title. The event displays times in the team's timezone.

Use Summary on a desktop. On a phone, choose Summary from Event sections if a different section is selected.

  3. Choose a reply

In your child's reply card, choose Going, Maybe or Can't make it.

The selected response is highlighted. This action saves immediately; there is no separate Save button or confirmation dialog in the event Summary.

Wait for the reply buttons to become available again before making another change. If an error appears, the highlighted button alone does not prove that the save succeeded.

Invented demo data: the event Summary shows Going, Maybe and Can't make it. Maybe is selected for the linked child.
  4. Check the saved reply

Reload the event and check that the same reply is still highlighted.

The squad's Going, Maybe, Can't make it and No reply groups show recorded responses. Your child's recorded response is visible to the team.

Availability tells staff what you expect before the event. It does not record whether your child actually attended.

  5. Change a reply when plans change

Return to the same event's Summary and choose the replacement response while the event is still open for replies.

Reload to check the replacement. Choosing Maybe replaces Going or Can't make it; it does not reset the player to No reply.

Controls explained

Going

Your child expects to attend this event.

Choose one response to reply; you may change it before replies close.

Maybe

Your child's attendance is uncertain.

An alternative to Going or Can't make it.

Can't make it

Your child does not expect to attend this event.

An alternative to Going or Maybe.

No reply

No response has been recorded. This is a squad group, not a response button in the event Summary.

Read-only status.

Event sections / Summary

Selects the event section containing the reply card and the squad's response groups. Desktop uses section links; a phone uses the Event sections selector.

Open Summary to use this workflow.

Notes

An event's Notes card contains staff-provided event information. It is separate from an availability reply. Event Summary does not provide a reply-note editor.

Read-only when present.

What happens next

The saved response belongs to your child's roster record, and the service records your adult account as the person who answered. Other team members can see the reply status. This is an availability update, not an attendance entry or a message to the team.

Access and limits

  • A guardian may answer for currently linked players with availability-reply permission, not every player listed in the squad groups.
  • Use the account switcher to choose a different linked child or team. The child's name and team identify which view you are using.
  • An adult player uses their own player view for the same response choices. Staff use their own availability-management controls; those are a separate workflow.
  • Replies are permitted only for future scheduled or postponed events. For completed, cancelled and other closed events, Your reply displays the existing response without reply buttons.
  • This article covers replies from an event's Summary. The Replies grid and private RSVP links are separate entrypoints with different controls.

If you need help

  • If your child is missing from Switch view, check that you are signed in to the correct adult account and team. Ask the team manager to check your current guardian link.
  • If the event shows Your reply without response buttons, check the event's start time and status. Replies cannot be changed from this screen once the event is closed.
  • If Availability could not be updated. appears, reload before relying on the highlighted response. Check that you are still linked to the player and the event is still open, then retry.
  • If the reply still fails, ask the team manager to check your availability-reply permission. Do not use another person's login or share private RSVP links to work around access restrictions.
